My comments on your post # 3...Look forward to your post # 4!

Hi, everyone

Time flies! We are in Week 4 now.

I enjoy reading your post # 3. Most of you did a great job in explaining how you’ve used MS Word as a student (both in K-12 and at FSU) and how you’ve seen your teachers use it.

Regarding copyright and fair use, most of you suggested that Turnitin should be used to check for plagiarism. Some of you like Evelyn talked about we should cite all kinds of sources appropriately. One way to avoid the violation of copyright laws is to find a healthy balance in referencing and using old material for support while constructing original ideas and work, as suggested by Erika.

All of you did a great job in discussing how to address the technology implementation issues that you are interested in. If you have time, you might want to check Jacob's post. The way he approached academic dishonesty and cyber-bullying was thoughtful and eloquent!

I am glad to see all of you left at least two comments on your peers' post # 3.

I am looking forward to checking your post # 4!
Your fourth post should contain:
  • A paragraph about your prior online learning experience. Describe what learning management system (LMS) was used, synchronous or asynchronous communication with the instructor or classmates, and your perception of online learning versus classroom learning.
  • A paragraph about open educational resources (OER).  Describe these resources in your own words.  Find an online resource (blog post about OER, examples of OER materials, an article about OER, etc.), provide a brief synopsis, and link it to your blog.
  • A paragraph on new skills you acquired from working on the Newsletter Design assignment and reflect what you like about it/what you don’t like about it, how you can improve it next time, and how what you learned from the assignment can be used in your future career. Insert your assignment on your blog. You can insert screenshots of your Newsletter Design assignment as pictures to your blog.
  • You can add a simple paragraph indicating who you commented to when editing your blog or add the paragraph as a comment to your own post.
